Independence Day Celebration 2024

On August 15th, we celebrated Independence Day with great fervour, honoured by the presence of our distinguished guests, Captain Rajeev Sir and Shiji Inasu Ma’am, the wife of a Kargil hero. They received a warm welcome, accompanied by a band, and were presented with badges.

Our students, representing the four houses, participated in a march-past, saluting the honourable chief guests as a symbol of freedom and independence. The march was led by the Head Boy and Head Girl, who proudly carried the school flag.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was a significant moment, led by our esteemed Principal Ma’am, Captain Rajeev Sir, Shiji Inasu Ma’am, Academic Advisor Bhavani Ma, Vice Principal Shyni Ma, the Head Boy, and the Head Girl. Captain Rajeev Sir delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of patriotism and national pride.

Our Kindergarten students presented a program titled “Unity in Diversity,” showcasing their talents through songs, dances, and skits. Aarushi Ratheesh from UKG delivered an enthusiastic speech on the significance of Independence Day. Young students from grades 1-5 demonstrated their talents through a march, drill, and patriotic speeches in Malayalam, Hindi, and English. Vedhaswangan from 6th grade delivered a speech in Malayalam, while Anirudh from 12th grade presented in Hindi, and Sreeram Murali spoke in English.

Students from grades 1-2 performed a patriotic dance, while those from grades 3-6 participated in an aerobic dance and introduced freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Subhash Chandra Bose. A house-wise patriotic song competition was held, and students from grades 8 to 12 performed a pyramid display representing Wayanad. The event was truly exceptional, with older students also engaging in skipping activities.

The event concluded with the symbolic release of a pigeon, representing freedom, hope, and peace, by our Principal, Vice Principal Shyni Ma, Academic Advisor Bhavani Ma, Captain Rajeev Sir, and Shiji Ma’am. This was followed by a sweet distribution ceremony, where all students and parents participated.

To commemorate this important day, students were encouraged to post articles and photographs on their bulletin boards. They responded with great enthusiasm, creating informative and engaging displays that highlighted the significance of Independence Day.
